Erpo Expertise in Leather

You can recognise genuine erpo leather immediately. It looks classy, it’s pleasant and warmly snug to the touch, and its timelessly elegant durability will beguile you. The perfectly fashioned, modern designs of our collections form an intense, richly colourful interplay of superb craftsmanship and inimitable comfort, naturally as functional as they were on their very first day. Our erpo standard? Each one of our creations defines tomorrow’s classics. Across the whole sector.
Our erpo philosophy demands the exclusive use of upholstery material that keeps its value.

We buy all our leather only from the best manufacturers from all over Europe. From open-pore, refined natural leathers to robust heavyweight leathers — we process select, large-surface skins that have been naturally grown in a controlled environment, tanned in an environmentally friendly way and the whole hide dyed. The purity, strength and structure of the leather surface document the natural quality which we value so highly. This careful manufacturing process leads to a very special upholstery material for leather sofas and individual armchairs. Because that’s what we're aiming for: to design erpo seating furniture to be as individual as our customers have always been.

Types of erpo leather & leather marking

naturbelassene Leder

Untreated leathers

With untreated leathers, the natural surface of the leather is fully preserved. Due to the large number of natural features, processing leads to high rates of waste. Only the best, roughly one tenth of all skins are suitable for these leathers. The dye penetrates deep into the leather. The natural look of the skin with all its irregularities is fully preserved.

Semi-Anilinleder

Semi-aniline leathers

This procedure partially corrects differing surface structures and natural characteristics. Similar to the way in which wood is coated, the surface is pigmented in order to achieve an even dye. The pigmentation gives a more uniform leather in terms of colour, and the natural features of the skin are less prominent.

Lederpflege

Leather care

Leather is undemanding. It's important that leather is always carefully cleaned. No aggressive agents may be used such as stain removers, solvents, turpentine, cleaner’s solvent, shoe polish, etc. Make sure there is sufficient humidity and protect the leather from extreme heat and direct sunlight.
